Maria Walter Nielsen is an illustrator, designer and artist born in Copenhagen and based in Milan. After studying in Denmark and Germany at the Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar, she moved to Italy where she worked for over 15 years with leading fashion houses, leading creative projects and designing prints and patterns for numerous commercial and luxury brands.

In 2019 she opened her own studio, where she designs for a portfolio of Italian and international brands, working on design projects as well as her own art exhibitions. Her work reveals a tactile sensitivity, the result of in-depth research and a deep respect for materials and color.
